ELDOA™

ELDOA™: Personalized instruction of ELDOA™. The goal of the session is to learn efficient postural self-normalizing positions that create more space in specific articulations. By creating fascia tension with the body the intent is also to improve posture, alleviate pain and improve your movement and life. Developed by French Osteopath Guy Voyer.

Movement has always been an integral part of Marla’s life. After studying ballet at the school of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, she joined Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal and later danced with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. In 1998 Marla discovered Yoga, and while studying and teaching she completed over 12 yoga certifications in various styles from restorative practices to more vigorous Ashtanga. After recognizing her passion for helping people destress and feel free in their bodies, Marla continued to study the Franklin Method, Pilates, ELDOA™ and most recently became a Buteyko Breath Educator. With over 25 years of experience, and a passion for helping her clients move better, Marla is a lifelong learner and continues to evolve and grow as a teacher. She teaches in a way that lays out an education, thus empowering her clients and students to take control of their physical health and well being.

Originally from Vancouver, Erica’s career in classical ballet and contemporary dance took her to the United States, Canada and Europe.

Erica’s interest in movement and the Feldenkrais Method® began while she was recovering from a debilitating injury. She trained in the Feldenkrais Method® with Myriam Pfeiffer and Paul Newton in Paris, France.

Erica completed her training in 2006 and has since taught movement workshops and Awareness Through Movement® classes to a variety of groups in Norway, Belgium, Japan, the United States and Canada.

As a dancer in Belgium Erica had received Osteopathic treatment, which she found to be fascinating and beneficial.

Wishing to further her development in the manual therapy field Erica enrolled in the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Vancouver in 2011 and completed her studies and thesis in 2019. She was awarded the Coup de Coeur award for her thesis and experimental research on olfactory dysfunction.

Erica uses Functional Integration® lessons, the “hands-on” component of the Feldenkrais Method® to assist with dysfunction through pattern and movement redevelopment, awareness and education.

Erica uses a range of approaches in Osteopathic Manual Treatment from cranial sacral therapy and other techniques such as strain counter strain, muscle energy, mechanical link, visceral manipulation and fascial release to help people with dysfunction and pain.
